Rath Building EECBG Mechanical Renovations

Erie County received a $2.9 million U.S. DOE Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant to implement projects that would reduce energy use and green house gas emissions within County operations and the community. C.J. Brown Energy assisted the County in developing the EECBG strategy including identifying the initiatives and projects that would be eligible for funding.

The majority of the grant was used to replace the six 40+ year-old air handling units located on the 5th floor of the Edward A. Rath County Office Building.  C.J. Brown Energy provided project management,

design, code compliance, bidding coordination and construction administration services for the project, which also included DDC controls for all systems associated with the work, replacement of the existing electric domestic hot water heating systems with new gas fired systems, and new gas service for the building.
