Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), in Indiana, PA, and California University of Pennsylvania (CUP), in California, PA are two of the 14 comprehensive universities within the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. As subconsultant to an ESCO, C.J. Brown Energy provided retrocommissioning and energy audit services for 36 buildings at the IUP campus and six buildings at the CUP campus in support of an energy performance contract. The project involved almost 2 million sf of space.

To accomplish the retrocommissioning, we reviewed all primary equipment and sampled all secondary equipment. We physically assessed the condition of each piece of equipment and conducted performance verification including full point to point checkouts and examination of proprietary TC programming. The information developed was incorporated into the final energy audit documents, performance criteria, and scope of work to allow the ESCO to obtain contractor pricing.
