National Grid Technical Assistance Services

National Grid’s energy efficiency programs help customers replace aging and inefficient equipment with more energy efficient technologies. National Grid offers prescriptive and custom incentives; scoping studies to identify potential ECMs; technical assistance studies which provide a more detailed evaluation of specific measures; and M&V services to verify and document energy savings.

C.J. Brown Energy has been awarded consecutive contracts since 2010 to provide technical assistance services for commercial and industrial customers in National Grid’s Buffalo service territory.

C.J. Brown Energy has been assigned over 800 projects involving commercial, industrial, educational, healthcare, municipal and agricultural customers of National Grid.

Our in-depth knowledge of National Grid’s energy efficiency programs is of direct benefit to our clients. We are able to structure projects in the early stages in order to access incentives and services for which a project may be eligible.

Our work includes:

  • Scoping studies to identify potential ECMs beneficial to the customer, with a particular focus on electrical ECMs.
  • Technical assistance studies which provide a more detailed evaluation of specific measures within the facility, energy usage, potential ECMs, calculations, eligible measures, incentives, and program pathways (new construction, retrofit, custom, prescriptive, etc.).
  • M&V services to verify and document energy savings.
  • Review and screening of ECM applications for prescriptive and custom measures.
